Muzeiko Shares Best Practices at the NEMO European Museum Conference 2025

02.11.2025

Museums today are increasingly recognised as spaces of care – places that support people not only through knowledge and culture, but also through shared experiences, emotional connection and opportunities for recovery. This vision was at the core of the NEMO European Museum Conference 2025 “Who cares? Museums, Wellbeing and Recovery Capacity”, which took place in Denmark and brought together more than 300 museum professionals from 37 countries.

One of the key elements of the programme were the working groups dedicated to wellbeing, inclusion and new audience engagement models. It was within these sessions that Muzeiko’s experts – Silvia Terziyska and Stefan Kasev – presented to international colleagues the good practices and insights developed through the project with MUBA Milan - the TOtT . The shared experience received strong interest as an example of how art, scientific exploration and meaningful interaction with diverse communities can be combined into tools for learning, care and adaptive support.

“Wellbeing in museums is not an abstract concept – it is part of our everyday work. At Muzeiko, we aim to offer children and their families experiences that not only teach, but also bring joy, confidence and a sense of purpose. The project we presented during the conference demonstrated how valuable international partnerships can be when the goal is to develop more accessible, sensitive and high-quality programmes for different audiences,” shared Silvia Terziyska.

Muzeiko’s participation in NEMO 2025 is another step in our commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards and expanding access to knowledge through innovative, inclusive and needs-responsive museum formats.
